DayaTani, a pioneering agritech startup based in Singapore, has raised $2.3 million in seed funding, marking a significant milestone in its mission to transform Indonesian agriculture. This round was led by Ascent Venture Group, with contributions from Northstar Ventures, BRI Ventures, and Gentree Fund. Additionally, DayaTani has received strategic and operational support from Wright Partners, a prominent corporate venture builder, highlighting a multifaceted approach to fostering innovation in agriculture.
Founded in 2023 by Ankit Gupta and Deryl Lu, DayaTani aims to enhance the yields of Indonesian farmers by implementing cutting-edge technologies into traditional farming methods. The startup is set to deploy over 100 IoT devices across Java, creating a network of weather stations that will deliver precise, localized weather data directly to farmers. This initiative is expected to improve decision-making processes and increase agricultural productivity.
Operating multiple research and development sites on Java, DayaTani focuses on several crops including rice, chilies, potatoes, and shallots. These sites serve as testing grounds for new agricultural practices and technologies, aiming to establish a benchmark for optimal farming techniques in the region.
Wright Partners' involvement with DayaTani extends beyond financial backing. As a corporate venture builder, Wright Partners provides invaluable expertise in scaling and developing startups, ensuring that DayaTani not only advances its technological solutions but also enhances its business model and market reach. This collaboration underscores the commitment of both entities to drive significant social impact and sustainable growth in Indonesia’s agritech sector.
As DayaTani continues to expand its operations and refine its technologies, it stands as a key player in the movement toward modernizing Indonesia's agricultural practices, promising a future where technology and tradition merge to create sustainable farming ecosystems.
